Geisha Camp | Video

Kristin Clouston | 6/16/2012

Geishas are known for their art and beauty. This week, Bismarck girls are learning more about the Geisha culture. At the Sleepy Hollow Geisha classes, students design and paint their own umbrellas, chopsticks, and fans, get to wear a kimono and experience a Japanese tea.

They also learn interesting bits of Japanese war history.

"Well in the war, there are Samurai, and so more people wouldn`t die, their team members or something like that they would go home and have tea for a little break and then they would go back and fight," said camper Dani Sheehan.

Sleepy Hollow will be offering more Geisha camps next week. Go to shtap.org for dates and times.
