Clark Sworn In As Federal Commissioner | Video

Jessica Roose | 6/16/2012

One of North Dakota`s public service commissioners became a federal commissioner today. Tony Clark was sworn in as the newest member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, or FERC.

FERC is a five-member agency responsible for regulating the interstate transmission of electricity and natural gas. Clark says the country has a choice in its energy future, and he hopes to help it choose wisely.

"Today begins a new chapter in my life. I realize I am now as much a commissioner of Florida as I am of Fargo, as much for Lamore as I am for Los Angeles. Yet my worldview will always be shaped by the years I spent here in Bismarck, what I`ve witnessed here in North Dakota and what we`ve been a part of here in North Dakota."

Commissioner Brian Kalk will take Clark`s position as PSC chairman.
