Devils Lake Woman Sentenced for Aiding, Abetting Post Office Burglary

A Devils Lake woman has been sentenced to 10 months` imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release on a charge of aiding and abetting the burglary of a post office.

Jewell Alberts, 23, pleaded guilty to driving a car on May 12, 2010, to St. Michael, North Dakota, with knowledge that her passenger intended to burglarize the post office. Kalum Yankton plead guilty on July 26, 2011, to the post office burglary. The St. Michael Post Office is located on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation.

Alberts was ordered to pay restitution, joint and several with other defendants in a related case, in the amount of $330. Alberts was also ordered
to pay a $100 special assessment to the Crime Victim`s Fund.
