Lets Move Event Promotes Physical Activity | Video

Allison Hesford | 5/3/2011

Students from across North Dakota gathered on the front lawn of the Capitol this morning for a Let`s Move event.

The Let`s Move initiative is a program implemented in schools to ensure that students get quality physical education and the building blocks to be physically active throughout their lives.

Students got a work out today with jump ropes, hula hoops and play parachutes.

"We`ve got all these students out here talking about exercise and how important it is. School is about learning, learning your math, your reading, and all the other subjects, your science, that`s exciting. It`s great, but you have one body and you gotta take care of it, you gotta take care of your body so you can take care of your mind also," said North Dakota Lt. Gov. Drew Wrigley.

All participants also took part in in a whole group activity led by the YMCA.
