| Women with a weakness for handbags and jewelry can spend money without the guilt Thursday evening. The Drink in Mandan will host "Purses and Pearls". The event features new and gently used accessories that have been donated. Everything will be sold at a silent auction. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. "I thought if I`m going to do a fundraising event, I`m going to do something that interests me, something I know I can get my girlfriends around, so i just asked a few of my close girlfriends to get together and we all leveraged our community contacts out in the community and this is what we came up with, it`s been a great event for us," said Megan Houn, the North Dakota Grassroots Relationship Manager. "Purses and Pearls" will be held from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday. |
