Redrawing school boundaries is bound to upset someone. And plenty of people showed up at Will-Moore elementary to express their opinions on the Bismarck school district`s proposals. The district is looking to ease crowding at some schools by sending students to Sunrise School, which will open next year in northeast Bismarck. The school board has a list of options. Many of the parents at tonight`s hearing were from Lincoln and say they should have a school there.
"Maybe you think you can bully us around in Lincoln, and I`m saying no more. That`s my point. I`m sick of it. Do not look at Lincoln, look at a school for Lincoln, it`s a community that`s growing," said one parent.
"It shouldn`t be based on how many people you`re going to upset, it should be based on the best possible situation for the school in the long run," said another.
The School Board says it plans to vote on redistricting soon.
