| Blood banks are thirsting for donations. United Blood Services in Minot turned to a new hit movie to attract the donors. Those who gave blood received free tickets to the vampire movie New Moon. Blood banks saw two to three times as many donors at the drive because of the vampire-related promotion. And they say most of today`s donors are younger than usual. "The idea is the Twilight Saga, New Moon Series, the Cullen family, vampires," says Rich Larcombe, of United Blood Services. "What more can you say about the vampires, but when you start talking about blood, that`s the first thing that comes to mind. So the bottom line is the Cullen family is helping the blood bank this weekend." The slogan for today`s drive, Vee Vont to suck your blood. And if you didn`t make it today, United Blood Services will always accept blood donations. |
