People in need of a passport got a little help with the process at Thursday`s Minot State University passport drive.
The drive at the university`s multicultural center gave community members one-stop shopping for applications.
People could get help filling out paperwork and have passport pictures taken at the drive.
The event coincides with the Department of State`s International Education Week, which promotes gaining a unique international experience.
"But for a more practical reason, we live so close to the Canadian border," MSU Director of International Programs Libby Claerbout said. "And in June 2009 they put in place new regulations where you can`t cross the border unless you have a passport."
If you didn`t make it out to Thursday`s passport drive, the university is making it an annual event each November.
The Postal Service accepts passport applications year-round.
