Sidney Airport Announces Security Change
Samantha Mehrotra
11/18/2009
More and more airports are considering using private contractors to handle security screenings and other pre-boarding procedures.

Today, the Sidney-Richland Airport announced that Trinity Technologies, based in Virginia, will be handling security operations moving forward. That responsibility usually rests with the Federal Transportation Security Administration, or TSA.

Officials say the switchover will add four to six jobs at the airport and should be a more cost-effective option as the facility expands its operations in the future.

Passengers will not notice any visible changes when they travel out of Sidney.

Trinity Technologies provides services to airports across the country, including the airport in Anaconda, Montana.
