| One out of every six North Dakotans has a disability. And it`s the job of Rehabilitation Consulting and Services through the Department of Human Services to get those people a job. Today employers who go above and beyond their responsibilities in working with people who have disabilities were honored at the Seven Seas hotel in Mandan. The Pizza Ranch of Mandan and Sheyenne Tooling and Manufacturing of Devils Lake were named co-recipients of the 2009 North Dakota Employer of the Year award. "To be considered for this award, they really need to be a business that actively seeks to employ and work with folks with disabilities, who have worked with us to make sure people can be retained in those jobs," says Nancy McKenzie, of the Vocational Rehabilitation Division. The two businesses were selected from among seven regional employer award recipients. |
