| State University System Chancellor Bill Goetz says three people are being considered for interim president at North Dakota State University. Goetz plans to recommend a candidate Friday to the state Board of Higher Education. NDSU President Joseph Chapman has announced he will resign Jan. 2. Goetz says the three people being considered are Richard Hanson, a former NDSU football star, faculty member and administrator who is president of Waldorf College in Iowa; Craig Schnell, NDSU provost and vice president for academic affairs; and Allan Fischer, NDSU dean emeritus who served as interim president prior to Chapman`s arrival. Goetz has said he hopes Chapman`s successor can be hired by July 1. He says it has not been determined if the interim president can also become a candidate for the permanent job. |
