Six Lawyers Apply for Southeast Judgeship
8/20/2009
The state Supreme Court says six lawyers have applied for a new state district judgeship position that will be chambered in Jamestown.

The deadline to apply was Wednesday. The applicants are Bradley Cruff of Valley City, Kathleen Trosen of Fessenden and four Jamestown attorneys: Frederick Fremgen, Joseph Larson II, Thomas Merrick and Jay Schmitz.

The Judicial Nominating Committee will interview the applicants on Sept. 22-23 and eventually make a recommendation to Gov. John Hoeven, who will then have 30 days to make an appointment.

Lawmakers earlier this year approved the new judge position in Jamestown and also one in Minot.
