Standoff Arrest
8/10/2009
A man is in custody after a standoff with police that lasted for more than nine hours in the southeastern North Dakota town of Oakes.

Oakes Police Chief Marke Roberts says 36-year-old Francisco "Frank" Castro was arrested Sunday afternoon after talking with negotiators.

Neither Castro nor the three children he had locked up with him inside the house were injured.

Police said they were called to the home around 6 a.m. Sunday, after learning Castro was locked in the home with the children.
