Wind Power for Your Own Home | Video
7/31/2009
North Dakota is the number one state in the nation for wind energy.

That`s got many people thinking about how to harness the wind, and save on their energy bills.

A new company, GR-8 Country Wind Power, is allowing homeowners, businesses and farm operations to use the wind to save money.

The company sells wind turbines. The turbines range from small enough to use to power your RV to large enough to power a large business of farm operation.

The turbines start at about $17,500, but there is financial help.

"There are some incentives that help offset that. There is a 30 percent federal income tax credit. A 15 percent North Dakota state income tax credit. Right there is 45 percent. Of course that assumes you pay income tax. There is alsoa USDA program. They have grants up to 25 percent," says Steve Redding a salesman for GR-8 Country Wind Power.

The Bismarck company started up late last year. At the State Fair alone they have sold three turbines. More information is available at www.GR8countrywind.com
