New Bismarck Elementary School Breaks Ground
5/11/2009
It`s been more than 20 years since Bismarck built an elementary school in Bismarck.

The district broke ground today for a new one.

It will be in Northeast Bismarck, on Nickerson Avenue, with 24 classrooms and an estimated enrollment of 400 to 600 students.

The principal of the new school says he is excited about beginning a new learning community for students in their own neighborhood.

"The school board looked at this and made the decision that they wanted the northeast site because of the population growth in this area of the community," says Lynn Wolf, the principal. "So we thought this would be a prime location for establishing a new elementary school here on this site."

Wolf says the school will be named this fall, and open by the fall of 2010.
