Flood Clean Up for Homeowners

| Sandbags were not enough to protect everyone`s home. Paul Zaharia lives just east of Minot. His home lies in the path of three coulees that run through Minot, the Larson 1, Larson 2 and Puppydog Coulee. Last week, Zaharia built a dirt dike to protect his home, but the water was too much for his levee and his home was swamped. Monday, he began clean up efforts. "Big job. Big job. We took the carpet out of the house. We have fans running. Don`t have a basement, we have a crawl space so we have go fans there to dry it out too. Next project is to wait and see what insurance or disaster air will help," says Zaharia. For residents like Zaharia, The Salvation Army is assisting flood victims will cleanup kits and bottled water.
