Homes Dry in Logan | Video
KMOT
4/15/2009
The town of Logan has been closely watching the river rise

Water has settled just inches from a few homes.

The Saugstad`s noticed the river starting flowing onto their property Monday night.

They moved their cattle to higher ground.

Fortunately, the river stopped short of their front door.

"We kind of dodged a bullet. We got are cattle out, I think we are goin got be alright," says Harley Saugstad.

Down the street at Harold Haugstad`s, the water also came pretty close early Tuesday morning.

The Haugstads moved the horses off their property and brought the furniture up to their second floor.

Their home is safe but the hay land got flooded.

"It came pretty close. We did move the horses out. We did not know how high the water was going to get. We tried to be a little air on the side of safety," says Harold Haugstad.

A few other houses down the Souris River that we have been watching also seem to have had a close call. The Johnston and Hildre residence have both been able to keep their home dry thanks to the help from volunteers.
