Foxholm Residents Notice High Water Levels | Video
4/13/2009
The Des Lacs River in Foxholm has risen dramatically in the past week and the water is inching towards the sandbag levees in the town.

This is video of the Des Lacs river in Foxholm on Tuesday, April 7th. Many residents were not sure any flooding was going to take place. This is what the river looks like as of April 13th. The town did extensive sandbagging along the river and around houses. The swollen river is slowing making it`s way up the banks and nearing houses and property. Homeowners are hoping for the best.

"This is the first time we have had to deal with this. We have only been living out there for five years but I am not nervous after looking at the river today because it is supposed to crest at 7:00 p.m. And it is not coming over the road yet. So it looks pretty good," says Jessica Hudson of Foxholm.

Many are still sandbagging as the river rises. Flood stage there is 16 feet. The U-S Geological Survey measured the river over 16 and a half feet on April 13th.
