| Officials Say Apartment Building Fire Caused by Pan of Oil 11-7-08 Grand Forks officials say an early morning fire that forced 35 residents of an apartment building to leave their homes was caused by a pan of oil left on the stove to overheat. No one was hurt in yesterday`s fire at the Ryan House. The damage is estimated at about $140,000. Officials said the building`s occupants were bused to a senior citizens center and the building`s automatic sprinkler system held the fire in check. They say fire damage was confined to the kitchen area but other parts of the building suffered water damage. |
