Online Homework Help | Video
9/22/2008
There always seems to be a point when parents can no longer help their children with homework. The Minot Public Library is offering a brand new electronic resource to help parents and students.

Its called Live Homework Help and its an online tutoring service. The library offers the service through tutor.com. The online tutors are all education professionals who must pass strict background and education tests. The tutors are trained to help the students arrive at the answer through text chat, web browsing and a white board feature. The tutors offer help to kindergarten students through adults in the subjects of math, english, social studies and science. Over 60 percent of the users are looking for math and science help.

"That is where parents really loose it in terms of being able to help their children. Most parents can help in elementary school, but once you start getting into the more advanced subjects, parents really struggle. This is a great resource, not only for students but also for parents," says Katie Murtha the Teen Services Coordinator for the Minot Public Library.

Students and parents who want access to the online tutor program must use a password. For more information or the online password you can call the library.
