Ground has been broken for a planned energy complex near Jamestown.
The $500 million Spiritwood Station will include a 100 million gallon ethanol plant, an expanded Cargill malt processing plant and a coal-fired power plant.
Minnesota-based Great River Energy, Cargill and the Newman Group of Jamestown are partners in the project. Governor John Hoeven calls it a unique agreement.
The power plant will generate electricity for Great River Energy`s member cooperatives in Minnesota, as well as steam power for the ethanol and malting plants. |
