Wow! How time has flown by! Over the past year, there have been a lot of changes, specifically in the morning.

If you don't know who I am, let me introduce myself. I'm Chris Gallegos. I moved up here about a year and half ago after taking a year off from college. I started here as the Education Reporter and soon after that moved to the morning show as the show's producer. In February 2007, I started as an anchor/reporter/producer on the morning show, the state's only hour-and-a-half morning news program.

Let me tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Colorado and have lived in Colorado my entire life. I grew up in Denver and went to school in Boulder. While there, I took a journalism writing class during my freshman year and the rest is history. I graduated from the University of Colorado in May 2005 with a Broadcast Journalism Degree. I also received a minor in meteorology.

While in school, I interned at the Fox affiliate in Denver. I was there for three months and helped track the national and local election coverage. At a journalism conference in Los Angeles, the Dean of the School of Journalism announced that I was the lucky recipient of a paid internship through the Gannett Foundation at KUSA, the NBC station in Denver. While there, I worked with the morning and weekend anchors and producers, which I can say created my love for early mornings.

After I graduated, I decided to take some time off. It wasn't until I visited my friend in Phoenix that I realized that this is truly what I wanted to do. A short time after that, my friend Joanna Small (who I went to school with) told me about this fantastic job. I can't thank her enough.

I love anything outdoors. During the summer, I love taking walks down by the river, hiking, biking and everything in-between. When it gets cold, you most likely will find me at the bowling alley, making every attempt to improve my game. You might also find me at the dog park. In May of 2007, I was able to bring my dog up from Denver. He is a Shepherd/Whippet mix who is full of energy.
