I am an East Coast girl, this is my first time out in the Midwest, and I am loving Bismarck! I grew up in Middletown, Connecticut. Ever hear of it? That's okay, just know it's in the middle of the state. Being from New England, I am no stranger to cold winters and heavy snow. Even though from what I hear there's no comparison to a North Dakota winter.
I graduated with a journalism degree from Emerson College in Boston. During my time there I was lucky enough to intern twice at Fox 25, Boston's Fox affiliate. I interned once with the assignment desk and then with the Special Projects Unit. Through both of these opportunities I learned what it meant to put a story together, how to ask the tough questions and most importantly, to never be afraid. I was able to help cover unsolved murder cases in New England, the trial of famous mob boss Whitey Bulger, and numerous special reports like the shortage of ADHD medication.
Country Morning Today is an incredible experience so far. Thanks for waking up with us! Anchoring and producing the morning show has already taught me a lot. I also have a passion for reporting, especially crime reporting. Like any newsie, I love a good story. If you have an idea on anything you'd like to see covered, email me! Amarino@kfyrtv.com.
