ALISON ADAIR
Morning Anchor
Born and raised a Hawkeye fan, I call Iowa home. Originally from West Des Moines, I was bred to be an athlete. My whole family has been involved in sports. Growing up I played softball, basketball and volleyball, I even dabbled in acting. My first, (and only) role was, get this, as a reporter. So I guess it was fate that I would grow up and want to be a sports reporter.
After high school I headed north, to South Dakota State University where I majored in Mass Communication and minored in Sociology. For three years I also was a starter for the Jackrabbit softball team until my career called. During my last year I was a sports reporter and photographer at KELO TV in Sioux Falls. While at KELO, I won an Eric Sevareid Award for Sports Reporting in a Student Market for my piece "Junior Football." I cherish the time I spent at KELO, and learned so much from the people there, but it was time to move on, and that's why you can find me here in Bismarck.
You will find me doing a lot of things at KFYR. Not only will I be working in sports but I will also split my time in news. I have a passion for telling people's stories. News or sports, doesn't matter. There is nothing better than meeting new people every day and hearing their stories and trying to tell it the best you can.
I love my job, but when I'm not working, you can find me talking on the phone with my family, with whom I am extremely close, watching and quoting movies, or just relaxing. |
