I am a born and bred Bismarck native. I recently moved back to Bismarck after graduating from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in print journalism and a certificate in publishing. When I got the job at KFYR I was thrilled that I would be working online and dealing with technology stories, because that seems to be the direction that all journalism is going.
It wasn't always my plan to be a journalist, and it took at least half of my university education -- and funding -- to realize that this is what I wanted to do. I started out in radiologic sciences, from there I moved to history and after two years of deliberating I finally decided to give journalism a whirl. It turned out to be the right fit and I really enjoy the process.
I am thrilled to be back in my home town. Though I have never really adjusted to the winters, it's nice to be here and close to family again. One of my greatest passions is film, and I love seeing a good movie. I also love reading, skiing and cooking.
